It is designed to be easy to use and very efficient. Lenovo has thought of everything. This laptop so easy to use. It has 4 USB ports and the memory is expandable to 16GB. First of all, love the cover, won't show fingerprint. The size of the screen is perfect for web searches and for watching movies.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 (20B20011US) 15.6-Inch Laptop comes with Windows 7 Professional and the discs for Windows 8. The Window 7 Pro was easy to work with and easier than Windows 8 Pro. So easy to use and navigate. I was able to connect to my wireless printer in just about 5 min. Lenovo has a back-up system for restoring your laptop to the state it was in when you got it. The recovery discs on this laptop are in a separately partitioned area. That means that is does not take away from your hard drive. This laptop urges you to make recovery discs immediately. You need to do this before you start using your computer.

If you have read a review complaining about this laptop and they are saying that they did not make recovery discs, then that is their fault. That is one of the first things that Lenovo and other laptop folks urge you to do. You was not able to use a restore point, but You was able to put the recovery discs in and run them.

Mind you, it doesn't have the latest specs (mostly you won't need) or the most powerful processor, but enough of everything to take care of the daily tasks, which makes it perfect for students and everyday home entertainment or basic office computing.

The redesigned Inspiron 15 starts at just over 1" thin - that's 21% thinner than the 2011 model - so you get all the performance you need, with a little more room in your bag for the other things that matter.

The notebook you're looking at is from the budget 15" non-touch offerings released in 3quarter of 2013, the Dell Inspiron i15RV. The backbone is handled by Intel Pentium 2127U (from IvyBridge architecture release summer of 2013, just couple of months before Intel CPU based Haswell notebooks was introduced to the market), computer's response time is good even for a lower tier CPU its very capable in delivering on performance for most users. It also comes with an Intel HD Graphics that's certainly great for light gaming such as Mindcraft, Microsoft Store games and Facebook games. Sadly its not touch capable screen 15.6" 720p screen delivers good detail and clarity but slightly washed out but that's standard for budget priced notebooks (if ur really picky with your screens then go out to bestbuy and check it out in person). Great built in features including webcam, hdmi port, card reader, disc drive, 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB3.0 which makes this laptop very versatile to be considered as a secondary main home pc. The sound speakers on this is rather louder than some other notebooks in this class, such as Gateway's budget 15" notebook. Its made out of plastic, all around which is again not a surprise. I like the feel and quality of the plastic they used on here but other companies such as Lenovo or Asus's budget line feels a bit more sturdy and solid in weight and touch.

 This 15.6 inch model is very kind on the eyes due to the large screen, very kind on the body because of its under 3kg weight in spite of higher capacity, high speed and high memory. A good 500GB 5400RPM for storage capacity means more storage for music games videos and files. This notebook brings a lot of value for the money. With every kind of software becoming increasingly massive, one requires the highest possible processing power even for using a good Word-processor comfortably. If one is a power-user, the requirements are higher.

Windows 8.1 is a challenge to get used to to say the least but hopefully worth the aggravation. Automatically sync your files and photos to the cloud for easy access from all your devices. And pick up your favorite apps from the Windows Store — apps in Windows 8 work together to get things done faster. The photo does not do the size justice as it is blessedly larger than expected. It comes with McAfee installed so I nearly gave it only three stars but I found the control panel and can uninstall the McAfee virus easily (McAfee is junk). It is a slim machine with a textured surface on the deck top and lid. The no frills sleek look is typical of dell.

If you're a Mac user setting this hard drive up with your computer is super easy follow these steps :

1. Plug in the hard drive
2. Open up disk utility found in your applications folder inside the utilities folder
3. Next select the newly plugged in a hard drive and on the right-hand side you should see partition click on that.
4. Then inside that screen on the partition layout drop-down choose how many partitions you'd like to set up. I generally go with one partition and just use folders to organize my files.
5. Then on the right-hand side you can name the partitions and select the format. If you want your hard drive to work with your Mac for doing Time Machine backups (which I highly recommend) choose Mac OS Extended. Sometimes it's good to make two partitions and one using "MS-DOS fat" if you might be transferring files to and from a Windows machine (I do this with my friends as many of them run Windows so I have a little partition for giving them video files and the like). The reason is Windows machines and Macs can read and write to the "MS-DOS fat" format but your files will need to be under 4 GB each as that's the maximum file size it can hold.
6. Then click apply and your Mac will create all the partitions you wanted and you're good to go.
